Sibley, Caroline
Mrs. Caroline Sibley
Professional Biography
Marhaba! My name is Ustaaza Caroline and I began my Arabic language learning journey right here at UNC as an undergraduate. My passion is to continue the legacy of UNC’s robust and diverse Arabic program, now in the role of teacher. I completed my Master’s in Teaching Arabic as a Second Language at the University of Michigan, then jumped into the fascinating world of DLI (Dual Language Immersion) programs for Arabic. I’ve taught both High School and Elementary before making my way to the University level. My goal is to create an inclusive and exciting environment for students to explore Arabic language and cultures – learning more about themselves along the way and growing as students and individuals. I serve as the coordinator for the North Carolina Arabic Teacher Council supporting K-20 Arabic language programming across the state. I’ve lived in Lebanon - which you’ll hear in my shaami) accent – and so look forward to welcoming you into our Arabi program. Ahlan wa Sahlan.
