ASIA 52 First-Year Seminar:Food in Chinese Culture

Examines the cultural practice and meanings of food, cooking, eating, and drinking primarily through non-fictional writings. Some fictional and cinematic works are also represented. Main themes include Chinese diaspora and the globalization of Chinese food, historical and cultural changes, and asceticism and hedonism. This is not a cooking class.  LA, BN.
