World Tea Expo with Bruce Richardson

December 1, 1 pm, Southern Season, Chapel Hill, NC.  Bruce Richardson returns to Southern Season for another afternoon of tea tasting, scandal, and lore. This time the emphasis will be on Japan’s influence on American tea, art, and architecture. Bruce recently wrote the introduction to the 2011 edition of Okakura Kakuzo’s The Book of Tea. During this colorful and entertaining class, Bruce will introduce the fascinating life and many loves of Okakura Kakuzo, share stories about Japanese tea culture, explain the history of Japanese tea and Japan’s influence on turn-of-the-century Boston society, and lead a guided tasting of Japanese teas.

Appetizers will be served.
